Mums and Bumps provides a new antenatal education workshop to pregnant couples in Westmeath and the surrounding counties of Meath, Offaly, Roscommon and Longford. Classes are based in Athlone and Mullingar (subject to demand) and are offered as a scheduled 1-Day group class (Usually a Saturday) or as a private one-to-one class. Classes are typically aimed at first time parents-to-be but refresher classes for those parents on a subsequent pregnancy are also available upon request.

Research has shown that education in preparation for birth in the antenatal period can help alleviate couples’ fear and anxiety surrounding labour and birth by essentially helping them find familiarity in an otherwise unknown arena.
